Double Enduro weekend at Roebling Road......
Co-Driver: Chris Newberry

Saturday:

Qualifying: Bill grabbed pole with a 1.25.7
Race: At the drop of the flag Chris settled in behind the twin Golfs of Wiley and Pinky Boles, as the 2 BMW's used thier appearent power advantage on the long straight to good advantage. Chris was able to split the Boles brothers and with 45 minutes gone then pitted to hand over to team owner Bill Sulouff. Soon after the stop Bill overtook the GTI of Pinky Boles. The leading BMW 318i then fell out and parked in a spot which required the wrecker and a full course yellow. This bunched up the field and on the restart Bill pounced on the new leading BMW to take of first place. Unfortunately, Bill's inexperience at the track showed while on the last lap he was passed by a 3 car freight train which drafted right by. BILDON wound up 4th. Needless to say..it was a learning experience. It WON'T happen again.

Sunday:

Qualified 4th with a 1.25.6.
Race: Bill took the start with Randy Pobst (1996, 1997 North American Touring Car champion) immediately in front. After about 10 laps he took the Touring Car champion and proceeded to hunt down the Pink GTI of Pinky Boles for 2nd.

About 20 min. into the race Bill finally squeezed by Pinky Boles to take second. The leader (BMW 318i) was being reeled in when the 1/2 way point came and we pitted. Quick pit work and a key pit assignment allowed us to return to the track in first place. Co-driver Chris was unable to hold on to the lead as our worn tires were getting very "greasy". Soon the 318i of Howard Hong regained the lead. A half hour later, on the last lap another BMW got inside us on the back side of the course resulting in a 3rd. place finish.

All in all, a good weekend as BILDON Motorsport went from 45th in points to 7th.

Note: New Splitter
