Nelson Ledges, May 5-6
KRS Races #1 & #2

With the last event providing no testing time due to the rain, these first two races of the year are going to be our "test days".

Saturday: Race #1

Saturday's first session showed that our earlier problems with the electronics still have not been worked out. While the misfire has been cured, the car is way down on power. Failing to rev past 5200 RPM at reduced power poses a serious problem for competitive lap times.

However making the best of a bad thing, we were happy to find out that when following the class leaders our car was competitive through the corners. Unfortunately the straights are a reality and are keeping us about 6 seconds off the leader's pace.

Sunday: Race #2

Day two showed a slight improvement in engine response but the car was still unable to pull more than 5400 RPM. So we set out to practice our cornering speed.

Our times dropped through the day as we re-aquainted ourselves with Nelson Ledges after a 10 year absense. This was enough to bring us up to the back of the ITB field and not last anymore ;-(


There are 3 full test days coming up in June. Perhaps we'll get the car sorted then.
