Test Day

Friday:

Determined to make this year's first race at WGI better than last year's fiasco, Bildon Motorsport arrived early Friday to do a full day of testing. Watkins Glen is Don and Bill's "home track" having grown up in Central New York "Wine Country".
Along to assist is long time VW Racer and friend Alistair Oag. The day's plans included getting the suspension dialed in for the Glen and testing various tire sizes and compounds as well as testing a number of new engine management tweeks in hopes of debugging the strange performance experienced at Pocono last time out.

Beginning the test we found a number of things wrong with the car that would possible have cropped up during the race. Most notably was the fact that the coolant reservoir cap was leaking and was not holding pressure. This would have put us out of the race if not found.

It was definately worth taking the extra day to test. At the end of the day we had tuned the car to the point where we were running a full 3 seconds faster than at the beginning of the test.
