Thursday: Open Test Day:

Today we got in only about 1 hr. of track time due to Panoz running his race school all day and the fact that our test session was delayed due to an accident. The car seems to be good wrt to power. The brakes seem to be a bit soft. We'll bleed them tomorrow morning and hopefully get the car into a decent spot on the grid during our 8am qualifying session. More to come.....

Friday: Practice and Qualifying:

Fog delayed the start of today's activities by 2 hours. Once we got underway the first session on course was ITB qualifying for the ARRC race. I took the car out and did a wonderfully poor job driving. The car is qualified mid-pack as a result. Unfortunately this makes any top ten finish for the ARRC nearly impossible.

The afternoon session (Qualifying for the enduro) went much better. Co-driver Terry Coates who loves the rain went out on a very damp track and proceeded to put the Bildon Motorsport Golf on the pole by 1.4 seconds.
Tomorrow should be a very interesting day. Stay tuned........

Saturday: ITB Race:

I started the ITB ARRC sprint race mired back in 15th after my terrible qualifying performance. The start was uneventful and I spent most of the race swapping positions back and forth with Alan Russell and a couple GTIs from NY. There were a number of retirements farther up the field and eventually I made it past te GTIs I'd been battling with to take a 7th place. Chris Albin's Golf GTI went on to a win from pole position.

Sunoco Enduro

In the 3 hour Sunoco Enduro, the Bildon GTI took the lead from pole followed by Chris Albin and Robert Quindazzi both in Golf GTI's. After a few laps Chris and Robert got by as I tried to settle into a pace which I could maintain for 1.5 hours. Robert and Chris were still running hard and pulled away to about a 5-6 second lead approx. 20 minutes into the race. At this point a dead car in a bad spot brought out a full course yellow bunching up the field. I tucked in behind Albin and Quindazzi as Al Bell's 2002 pulled up into 4th behind me. Further back I could see the familiar cars of Howard Hong (BMW 318) and Herman Dean (GTI).
When the green flew again I decided to push the other two harder. I laid back slightly on the downhill run into turn ten (old dip) in preparation to use the old slow in - fast out maneuver. As Robert and Chris tried to out brake each other I was able to get a run on them out of 11 and caught them going under the starters stand. Although it was actually quite easy, my crew informs me that I made a very entertaining move down the pit straight as I ducked inside of Robert's GTI and then passed Chris on the outside going into turn one. I maintained this lead for a number of laps until Robert came back by under braking for turn 10.
At approximately the half way point in the race I brought the Bildon GTI in for our first of two pit stops. Terry Coates took the wheel and immediately took up the fight with Quindazzi and the GTI of Albin/Rusell. Terry reeled in Quindazzi and was pulling away. It looked as if it might be a Bildon Motorsport day....and then the bottom fell out. In a few short laps Terry brought the car back in with a severe misfire. We decided to make this our second mandatory pit stop and changed drivers back to myself. To make a long story short...I plodded along about 10 seconds off my previous pace to take a rather respectable 6th place. Not bad for a 3 cylinder car. A post race inspection showed that an injector wire had broken loose from the harness. It's always the .69 cent parts that get you.

Sunday: ITS Race:
Sunday we will be crewing for Jon Milledge Engineering and Chris Camadella's Porsche 944. Chris will be running with Bildon Motorsport in this year's 24 hours of Moroso. Bildon has provided crew for JME's IMSA GT Porsches and works with JME on a number of projects.

Short Answer: WE WON! More to come....
