ITS Volkswagen Corrado VR6

Probably the most fun VW we've ever driven!

This car had nearly every part replaced with new OEM or better parts. It was built to be run in SCCA ITS or in NASA GTS Challenge. A larger high compression engine was developed for use in NASA but never installed.

Partial History: - 1996 CENDIV SSA Champion - 1997 CENDIV SSA Champion - First Win: Aug., 6th 2006 - 2006 NYSRRC 5th place (limited schedule) - Strong showing in 2006 ARRC (ran 3rd)

Parts List:
1993 Chassis/Body:
- Straight, solid and rust free. Any 'race rash' has been professionally repaired
- McMahon cage built for SSA car. Needs '07 door update to be SCCA legal.
- Spare fenders. Deep "Reiger" spoiler with integrated brake cooling intakes

Drivetrain:
- Cylinder head. Match ported manifolds, optimized valve job for increased flow.
- Cam timing is optimized within limits
- Block bored 040" over (2.9L). Running engine (in car) is fully balanced. Including all pulleys. Crank is balanced.
- Engine machine work done by professional VW race engine builder
- Baffled pan and crank scraper.
- Stock intake box removed. Replaced with cone type intake found to improve HP
- Motor mounts are new, Front mount harder
- Cast manifold is ported and flows better than most headers
- Bosch Injectors, cleaned and balanced by Marren
- Modified ECU - Huge gains!
- 1 qt. Aluminum breather can
- Waterpump, Alternator, hoses, 2 seasons old
- Brand new radiator
- Balanced flywheel
- Rebuilt 02A gearbox with 3.94 F/D. (Could use 4.11 on most tracks).
- Clutch type limited slip differential. Eliminates wheel spin in slow corners.
- 6 puck race disk with Sachs HD pressure plate.


Suspension:
- 1 set of TeamDynamics Pro Race 2 lightweight wheels (7x15 et30)
- 1 sets of Kosei KS1 Race wheels (7x15 et30)
- KW Competition coil-over race struts, front (threaded) and rear (threaded) 2-way adjustable, bump and rebound. INCREDIBLE suspension that transformed the car. See a detailed post race review here:

- Front control arms with Nylatron bushings
- VW Motorsport strut tower mounts (Spherical)
- Bildon rear sway bar. OE Front bar (usually run without it)
- Rear axle is straight with shimmed stub axle mounts (camber)
- New hubs, new bearings, new axles, new hub carriers, many spares
- VW Motorsport hardened wheel studs with VW Motorsport hardened wheel nuts
- Wheel spacers front and rear

Brakes:
- Stainless braided Teflon lines front and rear
- New ATE calipers and rotors
- Hawk HT-10 pads
- Cockpit adjustable rear bias knob
- Aluminum brake pedal extensions

Interior:
- Stock instrument cluster retained with RPM, Fuel, H2O, Oil T., Voltage, Clock.
- Added Autometer guages: Oil Press, Water Temp.
- Switches: Ignition, starter button, 12v access, radio button on wheel.
- In car radio holder, car harness, PTT switch, antenna
- Sparco Circuit "halo" seat.
- Schroth harness and window net
- Aluminum door panels
- Wink 4 panel mirror
- Cage mounted helmet hook and camera mount
- Aluminum floor plate under pedals

Spares:
- Mutiple (6+) sets of 15" Kumho V710 & Victoracers (205s, 215s)
- 8 Extra VR6 Speedline (OE) wheels (rains & rears)
- Extra rebuilt CV joints and axles, extra hubs, carriers
- Extra complete transmission, and a 3rd dissasembled.
- Extra complete stock engine, multiple cylinder heads
- Partially built NASA motor with 3L pistons and 12:1 compression (target 250hp)
- Extra manifolds, pulleys, oil pumps
- Extra brakes, bearings, gaskets, clutches, flywheels, pulleys
