VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA ANNOUNCES CONTINGENCY PROGRAM FOR SCCA 2007 SEASON




CHICAGO - Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced that it will support the 2007 Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) racing season with a contingency awards program offering a total estimated payout of up to $300,000 to Volkswagen-registered SCCA competitors.


"The timing is right to support the Volkswagen SCCA competitors because it brings together our performance-inspired product offerings and the legions of SCCA members who have been driving, competing, racing and winning in Volkswagens for years. With the recent launch of racing-inspired vehicles like the GTI and R32, Volkswagen is making a return to our roots in racing," said Clark Campbell, motorsports manager, Volkswagen of America, Inc.


Details on Volkswagen's contingency fund will be available soon on www.vw.com and www.scca.com.
