GSM Racing VW GTI Completes Testing Program to Prepare for the 2008 Fresh From Florida 200 at Daytona
Pittsburgh, PA.
The GSM Racing VW team just completed a series of tests at Roebling Roads Raceway in Savannah, GA. This test program represented an opportunity to test the equipment, crew and drivers to get back into the “groove” after a long layoff from GSM’s difficult 2007 debut season in the Koni Challenge series.
The VW team covered a lot of miles over the weekend on the Georgia circuit and it provided an opportunity to try out a number of new drivers for the 2 available spots on the lineup. An announcement about who will be driving is expected just before the Daytona opener.
After testing was complete team owner Jon Lewis said, "The GSM team is looking forward to Daytona with renewed enthusiam. Even though we are an independent small race shop, we know that we have a good well rounded team with the experience and drive to compete against the larger teams that make up the Grand Am Koni Challenge"
"Last year our team had some of the fastest pit stops of any team on the grid and our race strategy and work ethic in the face of some serious adversity was without question" said Bill Sulouff, sponsor and technical liasion with the GSM Racing program.
GSM Motorsports appreciates support from Bildon Motorsport, Apex Competition Systems, Revo Technik, KW Competition, Autotech, Carbotech Brakes, and Spec Clutch.
